The Indianapolis concert calendar has been in a bit of a lull these past few weeks, but that all changes this weekend. The show schedule kicks into high gear in a mad rush to Thanksgiving. Here are some top choices for the week upcoming:
Saturday, October 12: Nick Flora and Caleb McCoach – Darrin’s Coffee Company (Zionsville): Nashville’s Nick Flora and Indy’s Caleb McCoach are coming to Zionsville for an intimate acoustic performance. We’re really excited to bring this show to Zville!
Sunday, October 13: Minus the Bear – The Vogue: Dynamic band is touring in support of their second Acoustics record.
Tuesday, October 15: Aimee Mann and Ted Leo – Buskirk Chumley Theater (Bloomington): Head down to B-town for a songwriter’s goldmine. Mann and Leo are indie royalty.
Wednesday, October 16: FIDLAR w/ Guests – Hoosier Dome: After several years of not going to Fountain Square’s Hoosier Dome, I’ll be making my second trip of 2014 to the venue to check out these dynamic gents. Will be loud; should be righteous.
Thursday, October 17: Fountains of Wayne, Soul Asylum, and Evan Dando – The Vogue: The 90s revival is in full swing. My high school and college years were good ones, so I’m digging the nostalgia. Fountains of Wayne are one of my all-time favorite power pop bands — Utopia Parkway is a masterpiece. Soul Asylum and the Lemonheads were in heavy rotation during those years. Really excited about this one.
Saturday, October 19: MFTs New Music Showcase – Radio Radio – Spend the day in Fountain Square! So many good bands. You’ll have a blast.
Saturday, October 19: Those Darlins – White Rabbit Cabaret – Stick around that night and head across the street for the return of the Darlins. The new album just came out, so expect a heavy dose of it.
